The Quality Improvement Hub

The Quality Improvement Hub was created to improve awareness of quality improvement (QI) initiatives build linkages between improvement champions who are testing changes to improve care and health outcomes in Nova Scotia.

Quality improvement Initiatives have a well-defined aim statement change idea(s) selected / developed by a QI team, who work collaboratively to implement time-bounded small tests of change (plan-do-study-act cycles) which require dedicated human and/or financial resources, and continuous measurement to determine if the change is an improvement. Information shared in the QI Hub should be aggregate level for improvement purposes. Please do not share any patient or provider confidential or sensitive information.

The QI Hub also acts as a repository for Clinical/Service Quality Projects.

Clinical/Service Quality Projects involve work that aims to improve clinical care/environments and service delivery but does not involve testing of change ideas through use of quality improvement methodologies (PDSA cycles, continuous measurement, etc.). This work could include, but is not limited to, retrospective chart reviews to inform best practice and/or current states, program evaluation activities, etc.
