What is it? 

Developed by Pallium Canada, LEAP™ Core Online is a palliative care course for health care professionals that provides an in-depth learning experience on the essential skills and competencies of the palliative care approach. 

Who is it for? 

LEAP™ Core Online is for healthcare professionals across care sectors and settings who care for individuals with serious illness.

Why should I participate?  

This evidence-based program focuses on communication, symptom management, ethical decision-making, and supporting patients and families through complex healthcare decisions. LEAP™ Core Online helps healthcare professionals improve patient quality of life by addressing their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. 

• This 2 credit-per-hour Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 24.0 Mainpro+ credits.
• This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the University of Ottawa’s Office of Continuing Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 12 hours.

Registration

When registering you are making a commitment to complete the pre-course work for LEAP™ Core Online which consists of 17 self-directed online modules completed at your own pace prior to the online dates (approximately 8 hours of work).

The webinar portion is delivered online over two three-hour blocks over the two designated days, or as a single six-hour day, that you must attend in full.

Cost: There is no cost to participants. The registration fee ($295/non-physician and $425/Physician) will be covered by the Palliative Care Network.

• January 14^th & 15^th (Wednesday, Thursday), 5-8pm
• January 24^th (Saturday), 8:30-11:30am and 12:00-3:00pm
• February 2^nd & 3^rd (Monday, Tuesday), 5-8pm
• February 28^th (Saturday), 8:30-11:30am and 12:00-3:00pm
• March 4^th and 5^th (Wednesday, Thursday), 5-8pm
• March 10^th and 11^th (Tuesday, Wednesday), 5-8pm
