The Grief Practice Support Program (GPSP) aims to provide Nova Scotia Health staff, physicians and volunteers with education, training, and resources to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence in providing high quality grief and bereavement care.

Grief Foundations:
Grief Foundations is a one-hour virtual grief education webinar offered by the Grief Practice Support Program. This is open to all Nova Scotia Health staff, physicians, and volunteers.
You will learn how to:
- Recognize and respond to experiences of loss
- Understand grief as a human response to loss rather than an illness
- Identify myths and platitudes about grief, and offer meaningful alternatives
- Find and share helpful resources for teams, patients, and families

Grief Foundations PLUS:
Grief Foundations PLUS is a full-day, in-person grief education session offered by the Grief Practice Support Program. This is open to any NSH providers who provides supportive counselling as part of their role.
You will learn how to:
- Practice using supportive counselling approaches in one-on-one grief care
- Help clients manage strong emotions and difficult thoughts
- Recognize and support grief among colleagues and team members
