Provider Portal
The clinical information system (CIS) is transforming how healthcare information is shared across Nova Scotia. As part of this transformation, Provider Portal is now available to authorized providers across the province. Integrated with the CIS, Provider Portal is a secure, read-only clinical viewer that gives authorized providers access to clinical information, laboratory and diagnostic imaging results, medical reports and other key patient information. The platform will have embedded access to the Drug Information System (DIS), Nova Scotia Health's Central Zone's OneContent, as well as the Provincial PACS image viewer.
Please note: Provider Portal is replacing SHARE, providing enhanced functionality and an improved user experience to better support patient care. Older records from before January 2023 are currently only available in SHARE.
Accessing Provider Portal
The process for requesting access to Provider Portal depends on where you work. The OPOR team manages the access request process, and IWK Health and Nova Scotia Health managers or leadership determine eligibility. Physicians, providers and clinicians interested in using Provider Portal should speak with their managers and/or leadership about obtaining access. Access for IWK Health and Nova Scotia Health users is requested using the organization’s IT Self-Service module. All OPOR Provider Portal users must review and be familiar with, the IWK Health and Nova Scotia Health privacy statements. Already have access to Provider Portal? Log in here.
IWK HEALTH AND NOVA SCOTIA HEALTH PHYSICIANS AND CLINICAL EMPLOYEES:
Physicians, providers and clinical employees practicing within an IWK Health or Nova Scotia Health facility who have access SHARE but do not currently have access to Provider Portal, as well as those who have not accessed SHARE in the past, will need to request access through IT Self-Serve.
To request access:
- Log in to IT Self-Serve
