 on?\nWould your career development benefit from opportunities to expand yo
 ur leadership competencies in a local context?\n\n\nThe Dalhousie Faculty 
 of Medicine has developed a program in academic leadership for clinical an
 d basic science faculty\, Emerging Leaders in Academic Medicine (ELAM). Th
 e program provides an opportunity for faculty with limited leadership expe
 rience to become more familiar with the functioning of the medical school 
 and acquire knowledge and skills to take on expanded roles in their academ
 ic settings.\n\nDescription: The program comprises 8 Units offered in a di
 stributed format\, making it equally accessible to faculty located whereve
 r internet is available. Independent study activities and moderated online
  discussions are delivered asynchronously on Dalhousie’s web-based Learn
 ing Management System (Brightspace). Introductory and concluding synchrono
 us (live) sessions offered via MS Teams webinars. Optional networking meet
 ings will be held annually for those who successfully complete the program
 .\n\nCore Topics: Understanding Your Leadership Style\; Goal Setting and T
 ime Management\; Collaboration\, Collegiality and Productive Conflict\; Se
 rving on Committees and Chairing Meetings\; Leadership of Academic /Team P
 rojects\; Leading in a Distributed Environment\; Mentoring and Coaching. P
 lus\, choose one of three possible Electives\n\nEnrollment: Limited to 30 
 participants with spots reserved for DMNB and basic science departments. P
 articipants must have a faculty appointment with Dalhousie Medical School.
  Time Commitment: Participants are expected to commit approximately 20 hou
 rs to this program\, which features videos\, readings\, interactive module
 s\, online discussion forums\, and webinars. The program is administered b
 y the Faculty Development Program\, located within Dalhousie Continuing Pr
 ofessional Development &amp\; Medical Education in the Faculty of Medicine
 . It is educationally co-sponsored by Continuing Professional Development.
