Brain injury can have a significant impact on a person’s ability to return to work and school.

Clinical Practice Guidelines:

The Canadian Stroke Best Practice Guidelines has a section on vocational roles under the Participation in Social and Life Roles Following Stoke section. Click here to view.

Similarly, the Canadian Clinical Practice Guideline for the Rehabilitation of Adults with Moderate to Severe TBI contains recommendation on vocational/educational rehabilitation after brain injury under the Promoting Reintegration and Participation section. Click here to view.

 

Nova Scotia Health Resources:

Outpatient OT Vocational Services provides support to those who are experiencing barriers in gaining / returning to work (paid / unpaid) or school as the result of physical and /or cognitive impairments from injury or illness, including brain injury.  Click the link below to learn more, including referral criteria and referral form.
