Bridget’s role is to provide Physician Leaders / Medical Affairs with strategic and sustainable conflict management support and resources. She is responsible for many different aspects of conflict management within Medical Affairs and will seek to develop policy and procedures with physician input and guidance to create a unique set of conflict management competencies for Physician Leaders.
“The endorsement of conflict management competencies by Physician Leaders is essential. With their collective confidence and commitment to using informal dispute resolution methods as a first step to resolving conflicts – their endorsement will invariably serve to allow the organization as a whole to proceed with developing a comprehensive program in appropriate dispute resolution,” said Bridget.
Born in Halifax, Bridgett lived in both Victoria and Vancouver for 7 years before returning to Nova Scotia in 1994. She is a certified organizational conflict management practitioner through the “Centre for Conflict Resolution” at the Justice Institute of British Columbia. Bridget also has an undergraduate degree in History from Dalhousie University and a Master’s Degree in History from Saint Mary’s University. Her thesis is titled, “Secularization, Co-Education and Conflict Management at Saint Mary’s University: 1967-1970."
“I enjoy most about my role is operationalizing the processes involved in helping people find creative solutions to complex, long standing, and multi-party conflicts. More precisely, it remains a privilege to assist individuals and groups with whatever is required to resolve conflicts at the lowest level possible and at the earliest opportunity to prevent unnecessary escalation,” said Bridget.
In her spare time, Bridget enjoys running and walking with her adorable dog, open ocean swimming, feeding the birds, reading mainly historical works, and continuing a two-decade journey of volunteering in coordinating/facilitating peacebuilding programs in Northern Ireland. Since 2020, she has also spent time taking endless photos of mushrooms in Point Pleasant Park.

My personal and professional values underscore the importance of understanding and utilizing processes to find creative solutions to complex, long standing, and / or multi-party conflicts. More precisely, it remains a sincere privilege to assist individuals and groups with whatever is required to resolve conflicts at the lowest level possible and at the earliest opportunity - including efforts to address systemic challenges in the organizational structure to increase the capacity of conflict management competencies for physician leaders and others.
