Dr. Sarah Bezanson

Hants Community Hospital

Sarah Bezanson completed all of her post-secondary education at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She holds a combined undergraduate degree in Biology and Computer Science, a Master’s degree in Health Informatics, and earned her medical degree in 2012. She completed her Family Medicine residency in 2014 and began her career in the Emergency Department at Hants Community Hospital (HCH), where she has remained an active member of the medical staff.

Sarah subsequently pursued additional training in acute care and successfully challenged the Emergency Medicine certification examination in 2018. Since May 2024, she has also worked in the Emergency Department at the QEII Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, while continuing her clinical practice at HCH. She served as Co-Lead of the HCH Emergency Department from July 2023 to May 2025 before becoming Medical Site Lead at HCH in June 2025.

Sarah’s background in both medicine and health informatics has shaped her interest in healthcare systems, quality improvement, and finding practical ways to improve care for patients and the teams who provide it.

Originally from Halifax, Sarah continues to call the city home, where she lives with her husband, their two sons and their Newfoundland dog, Oreo. Outside of work, she enjoys sailing, running, skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.
