Dr. Whitney Lum was born in Vancouver, BC. She attended medical school at St. George’s, University of London (U.K.) before pursuing residency training through Dalhousie University in Fredericton, NB. It was there they she met a project navigator from Healthy Pictou County who encouraged her to consider Nova Scotia Health – and she’s glad she did!
Dr. Lum began her tenure at Nova Scotia Health in 2019 and was instrumental in building the hospitalist program at Aberdeen Regional Hospital, where she served as lead for three years. Today, she is the co-site lead for Aberdeen Regional Hospital, department head for Family Practice in the Northern Zone (NZ) and is part of the Highland Health Home and Learning Centre in New Glasgow. She also serves as medical director for Maritime Oddfellows and Shiretown nursing homes in NZ.
Outside of work, Dr. Lum loves to spend time in nature with her family.
