Lisa Bedford has lived and worked in Nova Scotia her whole life. She feels very fortunate to support patients and healthcare teams across the province.
Lisa is currently the Director of Physician Extenders with Nova Scotia Health, where she supports the recruitment, integration and growth of Physician Assistants and Associate Physicians across our health system.
Lisa's career has focused on healthcare leadership, policy and program development, with a strong interest in finding creative ways to improve access to care. She's had the opportunity to work closely with physicians, operational leaders and interdisciplinary teams, and those experiences have reinforced the value of collaboration and teamwork in healthcare.
She passionate about building sustainable workforce solutions that support both patients and providers. Much of her work focuses on expanding physician extender roles, strengthening team-based care and helping healthcare teams work as effectively as possible.
Lisa believes the best patient care happens when people work together, support one another and stay focused on what matters most—the patient. As a leader, she is committed to being approachable, collaborative and practical in finding solutions.
Outside of work, she and her husband stay busy cheering on their two daughters at basketball games and cheer competitions. As a family, they love spending time together skiing and snowboarding whenever they get the chance.
