Brent provides strategic advice and management support to the Zone Medical Executive Director. In this role Brent also works collaboratively with system partners as well as physician and operational leaders to advance strategies, policies and contracts and address any challenges faced by physicians. Brent provides strategic advice on governance and leadership issues, helping to advance strategy and business plans to address clinical care opportunities or managing team dynamics and conflict situations.
Brent grew up in Stephenville, Newfoundland. He attended Dalhousie University where he completed a BSc in Health Education with a concentration in administration. After spending almost two years working in northern Newfoundland with Grenfell Regional Health Services as a director, Brent returned to Dalhousie to complete a master’s in public administration. He has taken numerous advanced training courses, programs, and workshops in the areas of leadership, strategic planning, project management, financial management, coaching, negotiations and conflict management.
In his personal time, Brent enjoys working out and living an active lifestyle with his family and friends. He plays hockey and is the biggest cheerleader and armchair coach to his youngest son who lives and breathes basketball.
