Born and raised on beautiful Cape Breton Island, Francine moved to the mainland for career advancement opportunities in early 2000s. Francine is a registered CPNS Advanced Care Paramedic with a background in project management, adult education, continuous quality improvement, patient safety and operational leadership.

Her passion for medicine began way back in 1997 when she joined the Canadian Armed Forces as a Medical Assistant working directly with physicians and other health care providers. Francine continued her medical career with Emergency Health Services (EHS) for the following 22 years, where in the latter part of her career supported the EHS Integrated Health Programs portfolio working closely with various teams throughout Nova Scotia Health to seek out innovative opportunities to improve health care delivery. She is a past recipient of the EHS Long Service Award and the Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal.

As a Medical Affairs Lead, Francine is a key leader in the Northern Zone working to support Medical Affairs. Leading various key initiatives, Francine ensures that health care staff and physicians within the zone are supported by providing zone-based leadership, oversight, coordination, and guidance on operational matters.

In her spare time, Francine can be found cheering on her two beautiful girls as they play a number of competitive sports.
