~A Message from Deputy Minister Paul LaFleche
It is with excitement and sadness that I let you know that Vicki Elliott-Lopez will be leaving her post as Senior Executive Director of Continuing Care to accept a secondment as the Senior Executive Director of the Housing Division of Department of Municipal Affairs and Housing, effective December 6.
I would like to thank Vicki for her incredible leadership of Continuing Care over the past nearly 3 years during a particularly challenging time. Not only have Vicki and the team done an amazing job working with the sector to navigate through COVID-19 but they have also delivered new funding for workplace safety training and equipment, released a workforce recruitment and retention strategy, prepared for the new Continuing Care Assistant Registry, and developed a blueprint for change that will guide the work of the sector in the upcoming years. This on top of the very busy routine business of this team.
With Vicki’s departure, the Continuing Care team will be reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister, Tracey Barbrick. Tracey has worked with many of you before in her time as the ADM of Department of Health & Wellness and as the lead of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout. I know that Tracey is looking forward to working closer with you all and she will be arranging transition meetings with Vickie and the team next week.
