Re: Ultrasound eReferrals now live

Dear Colleagues,

Starting today, December 6, 2023, providers who are onboarded to the e-referral tool will have the ability to choose ultrasound as a service, in addition to MRI, under the Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Provincial Queue on the Ocean Healthmap

We are pleased to take this next step forward as we work to make the DI referral process more efficient for providers across the system and quality focused for patients accessing care.

eReferrals are the provincial standard for sending surgical, MRI and ultrasound requisitions. As an Action for Health priority, all onboarded primary care providers (PCPs) are expected to use the tool for sending referrals to these services. Additional information will be sent this afternoon to PCPs on behalf of project sponsors and system leaders.

Our teams remain committed to working with and supporting PCPs across the province. A list of supports is included below. For those who are not onboarded, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of these resources as early as possible.
