We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Rod McGory as the QEII Medical Site Lead, effective March 27, 2023.
Dr. McGory is a general surgeon with fellowships in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He is a certified Canadian Physician Executive. He comes to us from the Eastern Zone where he has been the Surgical Site Chief at Cape Breton Hospital as well as the Chief of General Surgery at Cape Breton Regional Hospital. He is also a former VP or Medicine at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
Rod will work closely with Jill Flinn, Executive Health Services Director for the QEII and Kitty Connell, HI Site Lead and Director C3.
Rod hails from St. Johns Newfoundland and originally studied physiotherapy at Dalhousie University before becoming a surgeon.
We would like to extend considerable thanks to Dr. Mary-Lynn Watson who held the interim role from March 15, 2022 to January 31, 2023.
