Nova Scotia Health and Doctors Nova Scotia are pleased to announce the launch of the Quality Improvement (QI) Rounds by physicians for physicians. The topics for the upcoming seminars will include:
- Sepsis
- Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Heart Failure
- Pneumonia
- Levels of Intervention
- Urinary Tract Infection
The sessions are targeted towards all physicians who provide inpatient and Emergency Department care. Each session will run for an hour followed by 30 minutes of questions and discussion. All sessions will be recorded and available for download on the Doctors Nova Scotia portal.
Think Fast, Act Faster: What Every Doc Should Know About Sepsis & Septic Shock
Dr. Sarah McMullen, Critical Care Physician, will provide a presentation covering sepsis care quality improvement. Objectives of this presentation include:
- learn about any new evidence based updates in sepsis care
- recognize that sepsis/septic shock are medical emergencies that require prompt attention

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by the Continuing Professional Development Office of Dalhousie University for up to 1.5 Mainpro+ credits.
