International Black Health Conference

Where: Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront 

The conference will engage community members, clinicians, professors, students, policymakers, and others in discussions on: The relationship between health/mental health and the structural determinants of health, such as housing, environment, employment, justice, education, immigration, and child welfare. Best practices for addressing health disparities in Black communities through health research, health/clinical services, and health policy. 

The overall goal of this conference is to develop a report outlining best practice approaches for identifying and leveraging strategic multidisciplinary and multi-sectoral partnerships and targeted knowledge mobilization approaches for addressing health disparities in diverse Black communities in Canada and globally, through research, clinical services, health policy, community mobilization and recommendations. Therefore, the main audiences for this project include professors, researchers, students, clinicians, health policymakers, community organizations, government officials, and diverse Black communities in Canada and globally.
