Nova Scotia Health and Doctors Nova Scotia are pleased to announce the launch of the Quality Improvement (QI) Rounds by physicians for physicians. The topics for the upcoming seminars will include:
- Sepsis
- Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Heart Failure
- Pneumonia
- Levels of Intervention
- Urinary Tract Infection
The sessions are targeted towards all physicians who provide inpatient and Emergency Department care. Each session will run for an hour followed by 30 minutes of questions and discussion. All sessions will be recorded and available for download on the Doctors Nova Scotia portal.
Inpatient management of community acquired pneumonia (CAP)
Dr. Colm McParland, Respirologist, and Dr. Paul Bonnar, Infectious Diseases, will provide a presentation on the clinical evaluation of CAP and antimicobial stewardship for CAP management.

Dr. Paul Bonnar – Antimicrobial Stewardship for CAP management. Objectives:
- Understand the microbiology of CAP
- Optimize antimicrobial management of CAP using local resources
