Airway Management Roadshow: AIME on the Road: Halifax March 1 & 2

AIME CAEP Roadshow in its 23rd year: This program is designed for physicians working in an acute care setting requiring them to competently manage patients in need of emergency airway management. Whether you work in a large, high-volume center or a small remote setting, AIME will provide a practical approach for airway management in emergencies.

NEW algorithms based on Canadian Airway Focused Group Guidelines 

NEW managing patients with high-risk infections 

• Optimizing your patient prior to airway management 

• Hyperangulated, Macintosh and channelled video laryngoscopy 

• Managing the contaminated airway 

• When, why and how to perform awake or rapid sequence intubation 

• Management of the difficult airway and rescue oxygenation and ventilation 

• How to make the decision and safely execute a cricothyrotomy

• On-line open access textbook (aimeairway.ca/book)

• Unique, customized clinical videos

• Limited registration to ensure clinician to instructor ratio of 5 or 6:1

• Clinician to simulator ratios of 2:1 

Program Objectives: Attendees will… 

1. Be more confident and comfortable in making acute care airway management decisions. 

2. Have acquired a practical staged approach to airway management. 

3. Be able to choose the most appropriate method of airway management based on a variety of patient presentations. 

4. Make appropriate choices in the use of pharmacologic agents used to facilitate airway management. 

5. Learn how to optimize patients prior to airway management. 

6. Know when and how to use various tools and adjuncts for managing the difficult airway.

This Group Learning program has been certified by the College of Family Physicians of Canada for up to 18 Mainpro+ credits.

This course is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification program of The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians.
